Shen Milsom & Wilke is a full service design and consulting company, with 172 professionals on staff worldwide.  SM&W has four core disciplines: telecommunication, multimedia, security and acoustics. This combination gives them the availability to provide service to a wide range of clientele. With the help of technology, growing companies in the U.S. and abroad are offered the ability to connect and conduct business via technology. Advanced technology assists companies in improving business by allowing increased frequency of communication, decrease travel, multi-site conference bridges, increased number of participants and fast responses. SM&W helps companies decide upon what their needs are, and how to construct a conference room with the space that is allocated.

During Steven’s presentation, he discussed the various types of conferencing: teleconferencing, multi-point, video, high definition and high definition with teleconferencing. There are other features within a conference room that need to be addressed such as: type of presentation screen and size (i.e. plasma), number of cameras and speaker, room lighting, schematic design and technology infrastructure. Just as important is the location and placement of all these items to ensure the conference room reaches its maximum potential. There are a number of items that need to be considered when planning a conference room, and that is where SM&W steps in.
